In the latest interview with ABC Today, Rick Stengel, managing editor of the TIME magazine, revealed exclusively why they choose Jennifer Lawrence to make their list of 100 most infuential people in the world. Let’s start because we need a little lightness for a moment. Pop culture, you choose Jennifer Lawrence, she won an Academy Award, why did she make the list?
She made the list, Jodie Foster wrote about her. Part of Time 100 is the pairings. She has a new style of acting, Hunger Games will be one of the biggest franchises in film, and she’s influencing young actors and actresses everywhere.

TIME magazine is out with its 100 most influential people in the world, and this year’s list features a wide array of entertainment figures — ranging from our Jennifer to Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun. Every year, TIME puts all 100 of them on the cover, with a postage-stamp-size picture of each, but this year they made only seven cover portraits — they are Malala Yousafzai, Jay Z, Rand Paul, Elon Musk, Li Na, Aamir Khan and Jennifer Lawrence. Jodie Foster (who directed “Beaver” which Jen starred in) wrote in the essay, explaining why Jennifer deserves to make TIME’s list:

We finally know the title of the untitled David O. Russell project! According to Deadline.com David O. Russell‘s upcoming corruption drama, formerly known as American Bullshit, it’s titled American Hustle.

American Hustle will follow the real life political drama Abscam, which was set up by the FBI in the 1970s and 80s. An FBI employee posed as a fictional Middle Eastern sheik named Kraim Abdul Rahman, who was videotaped taking meetings with government officials in which they agreed to take money for helping him gain asylum in the US, among other illegal activities. The investigation culminated in the conviction of a United States Senator and five members of the House of Representatives. Jennifer’s “Silver Linings” co-star Bradley Cooper is among the all-star cast, marking this their third collaboration in as many years, as well as Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner.

American Hustle killer cast also includes: Christian Bale, Robert De Niro and Jack Huston.

Jennifer Lawrence will receive the Down Syndrome of Louisville’s Friendship Award next week for her friendship with local Andy Strunk, who has the condition.

The Silver Linings Playbook actress is set to be awarded for her friendship with the Louisville local, who has Down Syndrome – a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21, with Jen knowing him since middle school.

A spokesperson told E! News: “Jennifer and Andy Strunk have been friends since their middle school days. Jennifer and Andy enjoy a loyal friendship of mutual encouragement and enjoy each other’s company. They text and speak on the phone quite frequently. Their families stay in close contact and continue a friendship too.

Our members and staff of Down Syndrome of Louisville are so very proud of Jennifer for staying true to her Louisville hometown roots while she achieves global recognition for her craft as an artist. We are thrilled that Andy will present the Friendship Award to her family.”

Jennifer will be unable to attend the ceremony on April 26 at the Mint Jubilee Gala, but her brother Blaine will accept the award on her behalf.

Now, Jennifer Lawrence can put her (another) Golden Popcorn next to the Academy Award, because she won 2 MTV’s statuettes last night! As we all know, she couldn’t attend the show due to a very tight schedule but her “Silver Linings” fellow, Bradley Cooper came out in order to represent the cast of the movie and accepted his and Jen’s Best Kiss award. What’s more, Jennifer even beat a competition in Best Female Performance category — Anne Hathaway, Mila Kunis, Emma Watson and Rebel Wilson — and won the award! Congrats Jen!!!

“Thanks so much. Jen’s not here. I’m sorry,” he said to an audibly upset room about the absent Lawrence. “I know. But, she was great to kiss.”

Jennifer and Silver Linings Playbook was nominated for 7 MTV Movie Awards including Movie of the Year (lost to The Avengers), Best Male Performance, Best Scared-as-s**t Performance (Suraj Sharma — “Life of Pi”), Best On-Screen Duo (Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane as Ted — “Ted”) and Best Musical Moment (Mae Lee — “Pitch Perfect”).
