The Hunger Games, the cast and producers teamed up with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Feeding America to raise awareness about hunger in the United States and around the world. Watch the video where Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson encourage us to learn more about the problem and donate some money.

Hunger affects nearly a billion people, more than the populations of the United States, Canada and the European Union – combined. This means 1 in every 7 people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight, many of whom are children. But together, we have the power to turn that around.

Whether young or old, male or female – hunger doesn’t discriminate. When it comes to children and hunger, the effects can be irreversible. Without the right nutrition, millions of children will never have a chance at a bright future.

That’s why the Hunger Games, the World Food Programme, and Feeding America have teamed up against hunger. For as little as $5, we can provide a child with a nutritious meal in school for an entire month. School meals mean that more kids – especially girls – are enrolled in school and stay in school, giving them the chance to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

The cast of The Hunger Games can influence many young people, so it’s awesome that they became involved in charity work. I hope it will bring some results.
