Unfortunately Jennifer couldn’t be in attendance ? she’s shooting a movie in Prague ? but she addressed the win in a pre-taped message.
“Thank you, MTV and all the fans, for this award,” she said. “I want to thank [author] Suzanne Collins for creating such an iconic, powerful character in Katniss Everdeen. It’s been such an honor to portray her and have audiences around the world embrace this movie.”
While she appreciated the win, there was one thing she didn’t appreciate: “I can’t eat this,” she joked of her popcorn-shaped prize.
This was also a big night for whole “The Hunger Games” cast and crew. Josh Hutcherson took home Best Male Performance Award and it also turned out that Elizabeth Banks is unrivalled as Effie Trinket – she won Best On-Screen Transformation Award. Alexander Ludwig has also reasons to celebrate – he, Jennifer and Josh won the award for Best Fight!
