Brie Larson in Talks to Replace Jennifer Lawrence in Lionsgate?s ?Glass Castle?

Brie Larson is in early talks to replace Jennifer Lawrence as the star of Lionsgate?s ?The Glass Castle,? an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Lawrence, who will be back in theaters next month in the studio?s final ?Hunger Games? sequel, had been previously attached to the project, which is an adaptation of Jeannette Walls? best-selling memoir.
Should the deal happen, Larson would work with director Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed her in 2013?s critically acclaimed indie drama ?Short Term 12.? Marti Noxon wrote the first draft of the script, and Gil Netter and Erik Feig are producing.

Lawrence had signed on to the project in late 2013 to both star in it and produce it. However, she eventually dropped out, and now has the sci-fi film ?Passengers? in the works, as well as a screenplay with friend Amy Schumer.

?The Glass Castle? is about a young girl who comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads led by a mother and father who attempt to distract the children from their poverty.

Lionsgate declined to comment to TheWrap.

Quentin Tarantino mentions Jennifer

Quentin Tarantino gave an interview to the Vulture in which he mentioned Jennifer. Here’s what he said:

(…) When I was looking for [the character] Daisy, I could have seen Jennifer Lawrence doing a good job with the role. I?m a very big fan of hers. I think she could end up being another little Bette Davis if she keeps on going the way she?s going. I think her work with David O. Russell is very reminiscent of William Wyler and Bette Davis?s.7

Having said that, though, Daisy should be a little older. She should fit in with the guys. (…)

Jennifer Lawrence: Next ‘X-Men’ Movie “Is My Last One”

HOLLYWOODREPORTER.COM – The X-Men movies’ Mystique might need to change her appearance for good in future movies.

Jennifer Lawrence, who has played the character since 2011’s X-Men: First Class, said in an MTV interview that she’ll be done with the role following next year’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

Asked by MTV about whether Apocalypse would mark a final appearance for Lawrence as the blue-skinned mutant, she said emphatically, “It is my last one, yes.” (Fox declined to comment on the subject when contacted by THR.)

This makes Lawrence the second X-Men cast member to suggest that Apocalypse would mark their final appearance in the last couple of weeks. Nicholas Hoult, who played the Beast in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, told E! Online that the 2016 installment of the series was the last movie he was signed up for, although he said he wouldn’t rule out returning in future.

It’s possible that X-Men: Apocalypse, to be directed by X-Men: Days of Future Past‘s Bryan Singer, has been constructed to plan ahead for any potential cast turnover. Characters rejoining the superhero franchise in the movie include Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey (Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan and Sophie Turner, respectively).

Additionally, Lawrence potentially departing the franchise doesn’t mean that Mystique will have to be dropped from the movies altogether. The Hunger Games actress is, after all, the second Mystique to have appeared in the series, following Rebecca Romijn’s appearances in the original X-Men trilogy. Being a shape changer does make recasting easier to explain in-story, after all.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be released May 27.

Jennifer Lawrence, Steven Spielberg to Adapt War Photographer’s Memoir

HOLLYWOODREPORTER.COM – Warner Bros. has won a bidding war for the movie rights to It?s What I Do: A Photographer?s Life of Love and War, a memoir by Lynsey Addario.

Jennifer Lawrence is attached to star in a package that also includes director Steven Spielberg and producer Andrew Lazar.

Addario is a war photographer who has spent time in war zones ranging from Afghanistan to the Congo to Somalia. She is one of the few females in a predominantly male club and was also at one point kidnapped.

Wynn Wygal, an exec at Lazar’s Warners-based banner Mad Chance Productions, was instrumental in bringing in the book.

This is the second major project to be thrown in development centering on a real-life figure to which Lawrence is attached. In January, she and her Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence boarded The Dive, the true love story of Cuban diver Francisco ‘Pipin’ Ferreras and the French-born diver Audrey Mestre.

Lawrence is currently shooting Joy, in which she portrays Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano.

Spielberg, Lazar and Warners first teamed to make American Sniper before Spielberg left the project over budgetary concerns. This look at war will be a take two.

Jennifer and Chris Pratt in Talks for Sci-Fi Drama ?Passengers?

Probably the year’s best possible casting news ? Jennifer and Chris Pratt are in talks to board Sony’s Sci-Fi drama ‘Passengers’. Read on to read the film plot!

VARIETY.COM – Jennifer Lawrence is in early talks to star in Sony?s space drama ?Passengers,? with ?The Imitation Game? director Morten Tyldum to helm.

Jon Spaihts, writer of ?Doctor Strange,? is penning the script. Sony bought rights to ?Passengers? in December.

?Passengers? is set on a spacecraft in the future, with thousands of passengers making an interstellar voyage to a distant new planet. One passenger awakens from cryogenic sleep 90 years before anyone else and decides to wake up a female passenger, sparking the beginning of a love story.

Neal Moritz and Ori Marmur will produce through Moritz?s Original Film banner along with Michael Maher for Start Media and Stephen Hamel of Company Films.

The project has a long development history: Focus was in talks to acquire U.S. rights with Keanu Reeves attached earlier in 2014; the Weinstein Co. ditched the project earlier after acquiring the rights. Both Reese Witherspoon and Rachel McAdams were at one point attached to the project.

Tyldum has been nominated for an Oscar and a DGA award for ?The Imitation Game.?

Lawrence is repped by CAA and was last seen in ?Hunger Games: Mockingjay ? Part 1,? which was the highest-grossing movie of 2014. She will appear in ?Mockingjay ? Part 2? later this year and in ?X-Men: Apocalypse? in 2016.

UPDATE, 3:53 p.m. PST ? Chris Pratt is in early talks for the male lead. Pratt will be seen next in ?Jurassic World.? That item of news was first reported by The Wrap.
