Exclusive behind-the-scenes video from X-Men: First Class featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

(Source: Io9.com) Watch as the lovely Jennifer Lawrence is transformed into the scaly blue mutant Mystique, in this exclusive behind-the-scenes video from X-Men: First Class.

In this sneak peek from the special features included inside the movie’s DVD and Blu-ray release, you can watch a team of 6 make-up artists airbrush on the scaly blue sheath that is Mystique’s very thin costume. We have a hard time imagining standing still for seven hours, only to work a full day on set directly afterwards. Still, we’d argue it was worth it, Raven’s the young blue hide in this 1960s mutant period piece was spectacular.

I’m impressed! If I were her, I would be so exhausted and after all these preparations I wouldn’t have a mind to act. She’s really great!

Photo gallery update – scans from September’s Total Film and french Be magazine.

When I was looking for some news, I found magazine scans which I haven’t seen before. So, I’ve just added to our photo gallery scans from September issue of Total Film and french Be magazine from May. In the first one, we can read about The Hunger Games plot and filming the movie in North Carolina. And in the interview with Olivier Joyard she talks why she accepted the role of Raven Darkholme in X-Men: First Class, working with Jodie Foster on the set of The Beaver and that she used to hate buying clothes. View scans in photo gallery! ;)

X-Men: First Class Blu-ray release date and cover art.

(Source: TheHDRoom) Fox has announced via Crave that Matthew Vaughn’s critically praised X-Men: First Class starring James McAvoy, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne and Jennifer Lawrence is headed to Blu-ray and DVD on September 9.

The announcement comes just a couple days before Comic-Con kicks off and the timing is no coincidence. Fox will be heavily promoting the X-Men: First Class home video release at the Con by offering the first 1,000 fans who pre-order the Blu-ray or DVD version a free shirt that either features Charles Xavier (McAvoy) or Erik Lehnsherr (Fassbender).

What shirt you get will be determined by which cover you choose. Fox is creating two limited edition covers; one featuring Charles and the good mutants, and the other with Erik and the not-so-good ones. Crave’s article neglects to spell out what makes them limited so we’ll have to wait until Fox chimes in for more clarification on that front.

What they do tell us is that the Blu-ray edition will include “hours” of supplements such as ten X-Men Digital comics including a never-before-seen backstory comic, and a Cerebro Mutant Tracker interactive video database spanning all the X-Men films. Again, a complete list of extras will have to wait until Fox’s press release goes out.
